Grades: Elementary School Families
When: All Year Long
Want to share the joy and confidence of cycling with your kids? As new riders get confident, they start to venture out past the end of your driveway and enclosed parks. Having an understanding of the needed traffic skills while riding is necessary for them (not to mention their parents’ well-being).
Family Biking is taught to both parents and students together. League of American Cyclists certified instructors teach basic bike skills, rules of the road, effective communication, and proper equipment in addition to gauging a child’s readiness for road riding. Contact Matt@marinbike.org for more information.
Families will learn how to:
- Evaluate if your child is ready to ride on the road with youCheck your equipment for safety (helmet and bike)
- Ride visibly and predictably
- Approach traffic situations and follow traffic laws
- Find the best route to town or to school
- Safely ride together
In an INTERACTIVE, live webinar, students, parents and guardians are invited to learn bike riding skills together.
Sign up here for Wednesday, March 2, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m
This free Zoom workshop will help prepare students ages 7 through 11 for road riding, giving parents tips for how to ride with their youth. Families will learn bike and helmet fit, navigating the road legally and responsibly, and how to build confident, safe cyclists based on age appropriate development. Contact Matt@marinbike.org for more information.
