Students Learn and Earn Bikes
The Davidson Bike Club is a new after-school activity offered weekly to all students at Davidson Middle School. The program is made possible by Safe Routes to Schools, a grant from Kaiser Permanente, Trips For Kids, and the PE staff at Davidson. Thirty students rode in the first trip through the Cal Park Hill Tunnel and bikes were provided for those without. Students will learn bike riding skills, bike mechanics and leadership skills. Thanks to the earn- a- bike program, any member can ride into summer on their own wheels by the end of the year. For more information visit www.DavidsonBikeClub.com.

Sun Valley Schools Celebrate New Sidewalks
Sun Valley Schools held a special assembly on September 22, 2010 to celebrate the ribbon cutting of their new sidewalks. Principal Julie Harris spoke to the students who assembled outside at the crosswalk where the street was temporarily closed for the ceremony. The Sun Valley Singers entertained the students and a couple of happy Polar Bears from Cool the Earth were the first to cross the street.
