Dixie wins Green Ways to School Award Dixie School received a check for $500 from the Transportation Authority of Marin’s Safe Routes to Schools program for having the highest number of registrations on the new SchoolPoolMarin trip-matching program. Twenty-nine percent of Dixie’s parents registered for the site as part of the Green Ways to School campaign to encourage more children to choose a green way to school by walking, biking, carpooling or taking the bus.

Green Ways to School is a new campaign of Safe Routes to Schools that launched in January. Funded through a grant from the Marin Community Foundation’s Climate Change Initiative, the campaign consists of a new Web-based trip-matching program, and contests and promotions that encourage students and their parents to find Green Ways to School.
